Principle Dance Teacher
Lisa Mason is an Associate of the B.A.T.D. , British Association of Teachers of Dancing, and teaches the Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet & Modern classes and the Tap & Acro/Gymnastics classes. Lisa also teaches ‘First Steps’ Dance for the under 3’s as well as Adult Ballet & Modern and Adult Tap classes.
Lisa started dancing at the age of 4 years, with the Rosina Pulley School of Stage Dancing based in Leytonstone, London. Over the years passed many exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Acro/gymnastics. She performed in many shows with the school including semi professional Pantomimes.
Siobhan Whitehead A.U.K.A. teaches groups in each of the different Saturday Morning
classes.
Siobhan started dancing at the age of 5 years at the Benson Stage Academy in Scarborough,
North Yorkshire, training in Ballet, Tap and Modern dance.
During her time there she performed in many professional and semi-professional productions.
After passing all her Grade and Medal examinations, she began to train to be a teacher
in all 3 disciplines. Then, in July 1995 before going on to University, she took
and passed her teaching exam becoming an Associate of the UKA in Theatre (Ballet).
She has kept up both dancing and performance, by becoming a member of Saffron Walden
Amateur Operatic Society (SWAOS) in September 1999. She has performed in a show with
them every year since.
We have two parent helpers, Karen Thompson and Hazel Sampher, who offer additional
support in helping meet some of our youngest children’s needs. Both Karen and Hazel
are CRB checked.

Once she reached the appropriate age she started to assist her teacher with teaching at her school, preparing the children for exams, shows and pantomimes, taking them for auditions and dance seminars etc. In 1999 she passed her teaching exams.
Lisa’s dance expertise is in Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz, Acrobatics/Gymnastics, and Country and Western Line Dancing. In 2001 she took her Masters in Country and Western Line Dancing.
Soon after meeting Joe, her husband, in London in 1997 they started their own Line Dancing Club. This is still based in London and has been running now for 10 years.
In addition to the line dancing Lisa opened an adult tap class and they took the first two medal exams in tap dancing, Pre-Bronze and Bronze. Her line dancers have also taken their line dance exams, the first group having completed now the first five on the examinations ladder, Pre-Bronze, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Blue Riband.

We are very fortunate to have as teaching assistants Jane Doncaster & Naomi Hirst
- two very experienced dancers who assist the children with their dance skills during
classes.
